How do I get an expired residence permit validated with a receipt?

For certain TrustMe features, you need to verify your expired residence permit along with your renewal application receipt. This check is essential to ensure your file is compliant.

Important information: an expired residence permit will only be validated if it is necessarily accompanied by a valid renewal application receipt. Without this receipt, your expired residence permit cannot be accepted by TrustMe.

Which documents are accepted?

The following documents are considered valid to verify an expired residence permit and a receipt:

  • Expired residence permit (must be accompanied by a valid renewal application receipt)
  • Residence card application receipt (paper version)
  • Certificate of favorable decision on a residence permit renewal application
  • Certificate of extended processing time for a residence permit application
Important: all these documents must show your exact name and be legible. Documents created or altered by yourself will not be accepted.

Best practices for submitting your documents

To make validating your file easier, please follow these recommendations:

  • Only provide official documents issued in your name
  • Make sure all important information is visible: first name, last name, date of birth, document expiry date, issuing organization
  • Submit the document as a PDF or a clear photo
  • Make sure you have natural light and avoid overly strong light sources (lamp, window in direct sunlight) when capturing the document
  • Don’t place your fingers over the text on the document
