Certain TrustMe features, particularly for users going through partner staffing agencies, require proof of address.
It’s very important that the document be issued in your name: it must show your first and last name, not someone else’s. Documents in another person’s name will not be accepted, even if you live at that address. Certificates of residence written by an individual are not accepted.
Accepted documents
The following documents are considered valid only if they are in your name:
- Energy or water bill or contract statement — provided by your electricity, gas, or water supplier, dated less than 3 months ago.
- Mobile or landline phone bill or contract statement — provided by your phone carrier, dated less than 3 months ago.
- Latest income tax or property tax notice — for the current or previous tax year, confirming your name and address.
- Home insurance certificate — dated less than 3 months ago, provided by your insurance company.
- Rent receipt or payment notice — dated less than 3 months ago, provided by a real estate agency or social organization; receipts provided by private individuals are not accepted, and the document must be in your name.
- Certificate of residence — issued by a social organization, association, student hall of residence, or reception center, confirming your residence and in the name of the TrustMe user.
Special case: living somewhere free of charge
If you’re living somewhere free of charge, for example with a family member or friend, and you’re using TrustMe through a staffing agency, you’re not required to provide a document in your own name. In this case, simply contact the staffing agency directly to get instructions suited to your situation.
Best practices for your document
- The document must be issued in your exact name.
- Check that it’s recent: less than 3 months old for most documents.
- Make sure all important information is visible: name, address, date, issuing organization.
- Prepare your document as a PDF or a clear photo to make it easier to upload on TrustMe.
