TrustMe is a digital identity hub that verifies your identity and gives you access to various processes offered by partner organizations.
Among these processes, TrustMe can notably let you sign in to a public service via FranceConnect. Other processes may also be offered with private-sector partners.
It’s important to understand that TrustMe, FranceConnect, and the services you access are three distinct services.
What is TrustMe’s role?
TrustMe lets you verify your identity once and then use it to access different services and partners.
Depending on the process you use, TrustMe may verify your identity and certain supporting documents required for your request. For example, TrustMe can verify your identity to let you sign in to FranceConnect.
Once your identity is verified, you can reuse it with other compatible partners, without having to repeat all the checks. You still keep control over your data, though: you must give your consent before your information is shared with a partner.
TrustMe therefore verifies your identity and makes it easier for you to access services. However, TrustMe does not manage the processes you then carry out with administrations or partners.
What’s the difference between TrustMe and FranceConnect?
TrustMe and FranceConnect are two distinct services.
TrustMe verifies your identity and can then let you sign in to FranceConnect.
FranceConnect then lets you access different online public services using your digital identity.
TrustMe does not manage FranceConnect and does not manage the public services accessible through FranceConnect.
Can TrustMe access my files with public services?
No.
TrustMe does not have access to the content of your files with the government agencies or organizations you access.
For example, if you use TrustMe to sign in to a public service, TrustMe cannot tell you:
- the status of your request
- when you’ll receive your driver’s license
- when an agency will make a decision
- when you’ll be able to get an appointment with an organization
- the status of your file with a public service
This information is managed directly by the relevant organization.
Which questions fall under TrustMe support?
TrustMe support can help you with questions about:
- your TrustMe account
- your digital identity
- your identity verification
- the documents submitted on TrustMe
- steps carried out directly within the app
However, our support team cannot provide information about the content, progress, or timeline of a process carried out with a government agency or partner.
What should I do if my question concerns a public service or partner?
For any question concerning your file, its progress, a decision, or processing times, contact the relevant organization directly.
TrustMe support can only help you with questions related to your account and the use of the app.
